Black & White Galleries

Shades of Gray (Black & White) : These black & white photos were shot with the Nikon F. I was pleasantly surprised by how most of them came out. They probably won't make Ansel Adams jump up and take notice (rest his soul), but feel free to comment on them...good or bad. This first set was shot using Ilford HP5 ISO 400 film. Metering was mostly provided by the Weston III, but for a few, I used the D200 to meter then shoot with the F. I mainly used the Nikkor-S 50 f/1.4 (the non-AI hunk of metal and glass) and used the Micro 55 AI for some of the cat images. I had the film processed at Calumet in Cambridge (who sends it off to Kodak) for $20. There are further plans for this area. I have a roll of Tri-X which I plan to shoot through soon and will post it here. I look forward to seeing what Tri-X will bring to the table in terms of the picture quality.
